Ajman joined the United Arab Emirates in 1971 and after the formation of its federation, undertook to develop local departments including: Ruler’s court, Municipality Police, Public Security, Passports Office, Electricity and Water Utilities, Justice and Post. All of these departments work in coordination with federal ministries.
Through issuing the Amiri Decree no. (7) 2005 (on June 26, 2005), concerning handling, HH. Sheikh Rashid Bin Humaid Al Nuaimi served in municipal affairs as a chairman of the Municipality and Planning Department of Ajman.
With the development that the area has undergone in construction, municipal amenities and other facets of life, Ajman has come to occupy a pioneering position in various industrial and economic arenas. Ajman’s government is highly cognizant of the historical and strategic importance of the Emirate, which is why it has persisted in issuing the directives necessary to attract investment (local and foreign) and capitalize on the economic boom to construct proper infrastructure to carry it forward into the future.
